Campaigning with Disability: In-Person Session

Tue, 20 Aug 2024
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

This event is co-organised with Cripps Contra Colonialism.

Activism is how we make a difference. Unfortunately, not all campaigns take the time to make sure everyone is included.

Trying to get involved in activism can be a daunting task. We all want to campaign for social justice and equity, but the scene is dominated by marching at protests and sleeping overnight on campus, and it isn’t always clear how beginners can get involved.

This workshop will give you the tools to make a difference and give you the opportunity to share shortcomings in the activist movement. Together, we’ll break down the different kinds of activism happening in Perth, discuss the current barriers to accessibility, and brainstorm ways organisers can improve accessibility of their events.

Make sure you register for the event so you can provide information about your accessibility and dietary needs. This event will be in Clubs HQ (Building 106B) between Concept Coffee and George's Kebabs.

Please wear a mask, if you are able to.
